This Privacy Policy describes how MidiPdfView ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and handles your information when you visit our website (midipdfview.com) or use our desktop application.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum information necessary to provide our service:

Purchase information — When you purchase a license, our payment processor (Lemon Squeezy) collects your name, email address, and payment details. We receive your email address and license key for order fulfillment. We do not store full payment card information.
Contact form submissions — If you submit a message through our contact form, we receive your name, email address, and message content, which we use solely to respond to your inquiry.
Server access logs — Our web server automatically records standard request data including IP address, browser type, and pages visited. Logs are retained for up to 30 days for security and debugging purposes.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not use analytics trackers (e.g., Google Analytics) on this website.
The MidiPdfView desktop application does not transmit any data to our servers. All PDF files and annotations are stored locally on your machine.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Payment Processing

All payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy, our authorized reseller and payment processor. When you purchase a license, you are subject to Lemon Squeezy's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. Lemon Squeezy acts as the Merchant of Record for all transactions.

4. Cookies

This website does not use tracking cookies. Lemon Squeezy's checkout page may set functional cookies necessary for the transaction process.

5. License Activation

When you activate a license key in the MidiPdfView application, the license key and a machine-specific identifier are sent to Lemon Squeezy's licensing API to validate your license. This is handled directly by Lemon Squeezy and subject to their privacy policy.

6. Data Retention

We retain purchase records (email + license key) for as long as your license is active to provide support and re-send license keys on request. You may request deletion of your email address by contacting us; however, doing so will prevent us from providing future license support.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@midipdfview.com.

8. Security

We use HTTPS for all web traffic. We do not store payment details. We take reasonable precautions to protect the information we do hold, though no system is completely secure.

9. Children's Privacy

MidiPdfView is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted with an updated effective date. Continued use of our website or software after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
